S&rsquo;ajoute \u00e0 cela la difficult\u00e9 d&rsquo;acc\u00e9der \u00e0 des neurologues sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s, notamment dans les zones rurales ou dans les pays \u00e0 ressources limit\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Disposer d&rsquo;un outil simple, abordable et applicable \u00e0 distance permettrait :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>D\u00e9tecter des signes pr\u00e9coces<\/strong> de la maladie et faciliter des interventions pr\u00e9coces.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\u00c9largir la port\u00e9e du d\u00e9pistage<\/strong> dans les populations ayant un acc\u00e8s difficile aux sp\u00e9cialistes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>R\u00e9duire les co\u00fbts et les barri\u00e8res logistiques<\/strong>, en tirant parti d&rsquo;appareils du quotidien tels que les smartphones ou les webcams.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Comment la recherche a\u2011t\u2011elle \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9e ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Une \u00e9tude r\u00e9cente publi\u00e9e dans NEJM AI propose <strong>d&rsquo;utiliser l&rsquo;intelligence artificielle (IA) pour analyser des vid\u00e9os de sourires<\/strong> afin d&rsquo;identifier d&rsquo;\u00e9ventuels cas de maladie de Parkinson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Les chercheurs ont recrut\u00e9 1 452 participants de diff\u00e9rentes r\u00e9gions du monde, y compris les \u00c9tats\u2011Unis et le Bangladesh. Parmi eux, 391 personnes avaient la maladie de Parkinson (300 diagnostiqu\u00e9es cliniquement et 91 autodiagnostiqu\u00e9es).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chaque personne a enregistr\u00e9 de courtes vid\u00e9os r\u00e9alisant trois expressions faciales : sourire, surprise et d\u00e9go\u00fbt. \u00c0 partir de ces vid\u00e9os, des caract\u00e9ristiques faciales cl\u00e9s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 extraites \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide d&rsquo;outils avanc\u00e9s tels qu&rsquo;OpenFace et MediaPipe. Parmi les caract\u00e9ristiques d&rsquo;int\u00e9r\u00eat figurent l&rsquo;ouverture de la bouche, l&rsquo;activation des muscles faciaux et les mouvements des sourcils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Avec les donn\u00e9es obtenues, des mod\u00e8les d&rsquo;apprentissage automatique (mod\u00e8les HistGradientBoost) ont \u00e9t\u00e9 entra\u00een\u00e9s pour distinguer particuli\u00e8rement <strong>prometteurs<\/strong> pour les raisons suivantes :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pr\u00e9cision globale en validation interne<\/strong> : 88 %.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sensibilit\u00e9<\/strong> (capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9tecter correctement les cas de MP) : 77 %.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9<\/strong> (capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 exclure correctement les cas sans MP) : 91 %.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Valeur pr\u00e9dictive n\u00e9gative (VPN)<\/strong> : 93 % (tr\u00e8s utile pour exclure la maladie).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lors des tests externes, r\u00e9alis\u00e9s aux \u00c9tats\u2011Unis et au Bangladesh, la pr\u00e9cision variait entre 80 % et 85 %,
